DIY Foam Soap with Essential Oils
Tis the season that everyone goes crazy over Bath and Body Works sales. Buy 5 for $25, Buy 2 get one free, it keeps going on and on. I used to be one of those people digging through the buckets of SALE items and grabbing everything I could to stock up on soaps, lotions, and sprays.
In a my post about ditching candles, i explained about seeing fragrance in the ingredients. Not only do candles have all these chemicals added but soaps, lotions, etc. Personally, I figured if I am going to ditch the candles, then I need to ditch most of the products in my house or there really is no point.
If there are specific scents that you love from Bath and Body Works take a look online or on the back of the package to see what scents. Or do a quick Google of "essential oil blend of [insert your favorite one here]". You will prob find a couple different blends from there, i usually tap the images first to get a quick result.
To get started here is what you will need:
• 1 foaming pump dispenser- get it here • 1/4 cup of unscented Castile soap - get it here
• 10 drops of any essential oil- I put 3 in my Fall version and added about 10 drops of Thieves and Christmas Spirit then 5 drops of orange. (Lavender, Valor, Stress Away, Frankincese etc!) * Since I am not a doctor, I cannot tell you specific oils that will irritate skin- just be sure to do research of the oils you are using in the soap since this is going directly on your skin. These make a terrific gift during the holidays! Add some twine with a label with the scent and you've made a perfect custom gift.
